Carlos Dunlap signs one-year deal with Chiefs worth up to $8M

The Kansas City Chiefs misplaced three-time Pro Bowl defensive finish Melvin Ingram to the Miami Dolphins by way of free company in April. As the opening levels of coaching camp proceed to ramp up, the staff made a transfer Thursday morning to herald a fellow defensive finish with a number of Pro Bowl honors to his credit score.

A 33-year-old like Ingram, Dunlap is coming into his 13th NFL season . Following 10-plus years with the Cincinnati Bengals by which he made each of his Pro Bowls and racked up 82.5 sacks, the previous Florida Gator was traded to the Seattle Seahawks in October 2020.

Dunlap completed the 2021 season with 35 tackles, 14 quarterback hits, 8.5 sacks and 7 passes defended over 17 contests (two begins). According to an ESPN report, the Chiefs have been ranked twenty ninth within the NFL in sacks final season.

Dunlap joins veteran Frank Clark and rookie first-round choice George Karlaftis as Kansas City’s main defensive ends on their projected depth chart.
