Former Seahawk Chad Wheeler violates court order in pending DV case

Former Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman, Chad Wheeler, has been on home arrest because of his pending felony home violence case and has now discovered himself in much more bother.

Wheeler has violated a court order by eradicating his digital dwelling monitoring machine, a spokesperson with the King County Prosecutor’s Office told ESPN’s Brady Henderson on Tuesday.

“According to court documents obtained by ESPN, Wheeler’s defense attorney said his client was experiencing a ‘mental health crisis’ on the evening of July 31 when he took off all his clothes, removed the electronic home monitoring (EHM) device from his ankle and began wandering the streets in the Seattle suburb of Redmond,” Henderson writes. “A pal positioned Wheeler, referred to as for assist and took {a photograph} of him as he was being tended to by first responders whereas bare.

“Wheeler was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation and released the next morning, according to the documents.”

The ex-Seahawk was first arrested on the DV cost in January of 2021 when he allegedly choked his girlfriend on the time till she misplaced consciousness.

Wheeler’s trial stays set to start on Sept. 26.
