The NFL salary cap is set at $182.5 million.
Ravens Wire projects that the Baltimore Ravens salary cap will be about $19.9 million.
Here is a list of the highest NFL salary cap hits for the Baltimore Ravens in 2021 (provided by Over the Cap).
Potential Cuts, Extensions, or Restructures for the Ravens to create cap room
The Ravens could cut Calais Campbell and save $6 million, but it would create $10 million in dead money. I don’t recommend that. The best option here would be an extension. That would potentially create $8 million in NFL salary cap space for the Ravens.
By cutting Brandon Williams, the Ravens would save $7.5 million. They would create about the same in dead money. This is an option, but it would create another void to fill. Is it worth it? I say it is smarter to extend him, which potentially creates $5 million in cap space.
The Baltimore Ravens did just extend Ronnie Stanley. However, I think because of his injury they could try and restructure his contract. By doing a restructure, they could potentially save $5 million.
I don’t see the Ravens cutting Marcus Peters. He has been very productive. There is a possibility of extending or restructuring his contract. Extending him is the best option that could potentially save $8 million dollars. By restructuring his contract, the Ravens could save around $5 million this year.
The Ravens could save $2,250,000 by cutting L.J. Fort. We have Patrick Queen and Malik Harrison at inside linebacker. This is a possible way to create more space for other voids.
If the Ravens want to be able to fill all our their voids this offseason, they are going to have to create some more cap room. Either that, or get really creative. We know that Eric Decosta is capable of doing just that. I am very excited to see what happens.
