The Baltimore Ravens free agency rumors are coming! It’s that time of the year. Now, we can’t buy into all of the rumors. But I want to look at a few that either could be true or I hope are true!
Some potential players that could be great fits for the Ravens include Kenny Golladay, Melvin Ingram, Carlos Dunlap, Kyle Van Noy, and Haason Reddick. Any of these players would be great signings that immediately boost the Ravens’ Super Bowl chances.
Baltimore Ravens Free Agency Rumors: Kenny Golladay News
The first Ravens free agency rumor I want to look at is Kenny Golladay. This has become a rumor because so many analysts believe he would be a perfect fit for the Ravens. I agree with that, but it all depends on the price. Spotrac has his market value at $17 million.
Jordan Raanan, ESPN, believes the Giants are among the teams interested, but he pointed out that teams are questioning Golladay and are only interested if the price is right. That is fantastic for the Ravens.
While Golladay had back to back 1,000 yard seasons in 2018 and 2019, he suffered an injury last year that cut his season short. That could make teams hesitant to put out that kind of money. I believe if the Ravens can get Golladay for around $10-12 million by convincing him to come to a Super Bowl ready team, it would be worth it.
Yesterday, I expected to get the news that Golladay was the first receiver off the market. According to PFF, he is the best receiver left after Chris Godwin and Allen Robinson were franchise tagged.
It’s not the normal move for the Ravens to make and it’s a reach. But it would be a great move. Lamar Jackson is a great quarterback, but he does need to work on his accuracy a bit as he becomes more experienced. In the meantime, Golladay would be perfect to help with that. He is 6’4″ and he will go up and get the ball.
Baltimore Ravens Rumors: Melvin Ingram News
The Ravens have lost Matt Judon, Yannick Ngakoue, and Jihad Ward to free agency. We were able to re-sign both Pernell McPhee and Tyus Bowser. I am very happy about that, but I still think we need to add a “thoroughbred” pass rusher to the mix.
There are some Baltimore Ravens rumors about potential interest in Melvin Ingram, Kyle Van Noy, Haason Reddick, and Carlos Dunlap. Any of those players would help tremendously. Ingram has 49 career sacks with the Chargers and is a three-time Pro Bowler. Van Noy has won two Super Bowls, when he played for the Patriots. He also finished with 6 sacks last season. Van Noy is player that would fit well in the Ravens defense, where they want their linebackers to be versatile.
Dunlap is a two-time Pro Bowler. He holds the Bengals’ record for career sacks. The Ravens are very familiar with Carlos Dunlap over the years. Haason Reddick finished last season with 12.5 sacks. So, yes any of these players would be an upgrade. They all played better last season for their respective teams than Matt Judon and Yannick Ngakoue did for us. And they would all be cheaper.
What do you think about signing any of these players? Are these realistic and possible Baltimore Ravens rumors? Can we afford it? Is it worth it if the price is right?
